Fall is Here!

I love the fall, it has to be my favorite time of year. The weather is almost always perfect and the colors and smells can't be beat. I really missed the fall while living in California. It is great to be back in the Midwest. This year we found a really great pumpkin patch that had a petting farm attached we have been twice this year once just as a family and than again when Papa and Grandma visited. I love how adventurous Henry is he is not afraid to feed the animals and to climb on the tractors, he also loved picking out a pumpkin and than carving it into a jack-o -lantern with daddy. I also have been busy making Tucker's Halloween costume ( stay tuned for pictures after the 31st) and a trick-or-treat bag for Henry. I am also getting a head start on Christmas by making pajama pants for the family and hoping to get a stocking made for number 2 (even though he won't be coming until January). I hope you are all enjoy your fall!!

Our Summer

So we moved at the start of summer, okay technically it was late spring. But we have been in Saginaw, MI for 3 1/2 months now and I am trying to like it. It is just a little small for me. However we have had a fun summer getting to know that area and what there is to do here. We have visited numerous parks Henry started out just wanting to swing now he loves to climb up the ladders and go down the slides and still some swinging.

We have gone to Midland and enjoy walking through Dow Gardens and blowing lots of bubbles in the Children's Garden there.

We have gone to several beaches while he started only playing in the sand by the end of the summer he was running to the water every chance he got!

I totaled the first car we purchased together. It was the other guy's at fault he ran a red light.

We became the proud owners of a new minivan, it will come in handy in January with the arrival of #2.

Henry and I traveled to Nauvoo, IL with my sister and her 4 kids for my younger brother's wedding. Which makes me feel really old.

We picked blueberries and strawberries and are hoping to pick some peaches and apples. But the early warm weather and late frost might have made that impossible but we will see.

We hope you all had a great summer, too!

House Updates

So we made a few changes to our house before we decided to rent it and move on from the Detroit area. This what we did to the kitchen: we replaced the hideous lights, removed the wallpaper border, painted and took down some cabinets.

Most of the changes where upstairs. We removed wallpaper from one of the bedrooms (floor to ceiling wallpaper), and painted.  We removed a wall paper border from the upstairs bath and from another bedroom which I affectionately called the yellow room, even the carpet was yellow. Both rooms where painted. We also painted the master bedroom and replaced all of the light fixtures upstairs. We where excited and loved all of the changes we made, and than we where transferred to Saginaw. So it is back to renting a home for now. However our next home purchase will not have wallpaper that needs to be removed.

Sadly I have no pictures of the updates that where done :( This is what happens when you do not update your blog regularly and your computer crashes and all of your backup methods didn't work.

Our House

So we bought a house it was perfect, 4 bedrooms, 21/2 baths on a cult-de-sac with a a walking path at the end to the local elementary school had a huge backyard that backed up to a church and a basement. The neighbors were great and super friendly. They didn't mind too much when the U-haul broke down backing up into the driveway and we blocked the road for 45minutes waiting for someone to call us back.  Below are pictures of what the place looked like when we moved in well at least the downstairs. i didn't take any of the upstairs. I wish I had.
You walked in and the stairs where right there.
The living room/dining room to the left.
Better view of the Dining room. Kitchen is to the right.

Kitchen please notice the hideous boarder. It went around the whole kitchen (and would come down shortly)

Life

So it has been awhile since my last post. Like it said we bought a house, yeah! Since than we have celebrated Christmas which was so much fun since Henry was more interested in the presents this year, and we have closed on and moved into our new house. We have been busy chasing Henry up and down the stairs and trying to keep him out of the sock drawers, he loves carrying socks around, today I think I picked up 5 or 6 pairs, removing wallpaper, tearing down cabinets (in the kitchen and only 2) and trying to decide on paint colors and where to put things even though most of the place is empty. We have also been considering a job change for Tucker, but more on that another time. I have been thinking of lots of sewing projects but have only completed one the laundry bag for the built-in hamper in the bathroom. Henry has been growing up way to fast he has started to communicate by pointing and a few signs that I have taught him. Well I think that should catch us up and I promise to post pictures just as soon as I upload them to the computer.
