My Latest Project

I know Christmas is still 4 months away but given my track record on completely sewing projects I figure I should pull out the stocking pattern my mother-in-law gave me and get started. It took about 2 weeks and couple of phone calls to get finished but it is finished and in plenty of time before Christmas and I love how it turned out!
Next on my list of projects is bibs, a Halloween costume, and several quilt ideas.

7 Months

Henry is 7 months old today and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone and home big he is. It is amazing how much he can do now and how much he trys to do. Some of his favorite things are his new piano that his cousins Oran and Lucy are letting him borrow.
He is also loving getting to eat solid foods he loves bananas and avocados, he seems to enjoy the braised beef I made him the other day and he loves sweet potatoes, but I think his favorite thing is getting to feed himself. a new thing we just started.
Henry also loves that he can scoot around the room and pull himself up on various pieces of furniture.
But his favorite thing is to be under something especially under this little table we have in the corner he will crawl/scoot from the kitchen and squeeze between the couch and this table just to get under it and play.
Everyday this little guy puts a smile on my face and does something to make me laugh (like sucking on his big toes it is amazing how fascinated his by toes). I am so grateful that I get to stay at home and watch him grow although he is growing to fast for me. I love seeing him learn new things and just seeing his smile or hearing his laugh.

2 months is a long time not to update; I guess maybe I should update my blog more often but then again who has time? Seriously I have been trying to find time do the things I use or at least thought I use to do but now am wondering and thinking I most not have done as much as I thought . Anyway what have we have been up to these last couple of months. Well we spent April and May in the beautiful state of Oklahoma. I remember spending every time here every summer when I was a little girl we would take family vacation to visit most of my extended family. I hadn't back for almost 3 years and it was really nice to spend so much time with family, especially my Granny and Papa. We spent the 2 months living with them while Tucker took some training courses for his new job. Since we have been back for the last month we have learned that being in a house is more expensive than an apartment because of all the yard work that has to get done. But it is nice to have a yard and a garden. We are trying our hand at growing tomatoes (for salsa of course), butternut squash, pumpkins and watermelon (which we fear won't make it). Also since being home I have gotten to visit some with family here and explore more of the wonderful city that we live in. It is wonderful taking walks to downtown with Henry (the cupcakes are nice to). We love how green it is here and how friendly everyone is. Henry is now 6months almost 7 and he is scooting/crawling all over the place he has 3 teeth and is working on added 3 more (yippee) and pulling himself up on anything he can.

Michigan, New Tire and Rim, 3 months and 5 Years

Whew! It has been a busy last 2 months. First there was learning this whole new mom gig and trying to figure out some sort of routine (which we are still working on). Then there was Henry's baby blessing and my parents coming to visit(finally) in So. Cal., packing our apartment and moving to Michigan. Once in Michigan it was a visit from my parents and younger siblings again this time to help us unload and unpack plus free babysitting. Plus we needed the van to help carry stuff back from IKEA to make our slightly too small house work for us (for now). After their visit it immediately snowed(yeah!). Then it was grocery shopping and a rude reminder of what all the snow and its removal equipment do to the roads. Yup we hit a giant pothole driving home at night with a trunk full of grocery we had to buy a new tire and rim the next day plus a new battery for our other car, apparently traveling from a hot climate to a cold climate after leaving a light on all night destroys a car battery (who knew). Ore snow and shoveling and cold and wondering why did we leave California! Henry is now 3 months old and I still haven't gotten his pictures taken. Lastly Tucker and I celebrated 5 years of marriage (I finally got my dream mixer the 6qt Kitchenaid in metallic)!

Baby Henry

Henry arrived 8 days early after my doctor induced labor. Thank goodness he was early or who knows how big he would have been. Here are his stats at birth:
birthday: 12/8/10 3:32
weight: 9lbs. 12.5oz
legnth: 21"

We finally got to come home on Saturday which was so nice my hospital room was getting a little crowded for the 3 of us.

Update in Pictures

Here are pictures from our camping trip in September first is Sequoia National Park and than pictures from Yosemite National Park. In October we celebrated our birthdays and I made my very first carrot cake which was actually quite good even though I am not a fan. My co-workers caught me by surprise and threw a baby shower for me on my birthday. It was definitely a surprise and a fun way to spend my birthday.
November was nice and quite. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving I was very proud that I made stuffing from scratch and with Tucker's help we were able to have dinner ready by 11am since he had to work that afternoon. November was also my last month at work.

A Quick Update

The last 2 months have seemed to fly by, I have been busy with work getting things organized and ready for an audit that was long overdue. Thankfully that is finally over. Tucker and I flew out to Detroit for a few days. It was a fast trip but it was great to see Tucker's sister and her 3 kids and my parents who came up to hang out with me while Tucker checked out the facilities at the Detroit Airport. We really liked the area and Tucker seems excited about the jobs available. We are waiting to hear back from the tower before we make a decision about moving to Michigan.

In September we finally took a vacation that didn't involve flying for most of it. We actually had time to relax (as relaxing as camping can be) and just enjoyed being together without having to do anything. We have been wanting to go back to Yosemite National Park and have been wanting to see Sequoia National Park so we went. We spent 2 nights camping in each park and stayed in a hotel between the two. The weather was perfect (for me) and we were able to do almost everything we wanted too. I promise to post pictures soon. I took some with my film camera but over half of them were never actually taken apparently I loaded the camera wrong and the film never advanced. Oh well at least Tucker was taken lots of pictures.
